From Capability to Capital

A framework for corporate engagement
Foundational document

A framework for India's corporate engagement with the space economy.

The foundational document of the Spacenomics initiative. This white paper presents the market opportunity, the knowledge–capital gap, and a framework for how India's corporate leadership can engage with the space economy. Launched at SkyFinX #1.

Executive Summary

Corporate India and the Structural Transformation of the Global Space Economy

The Opportunity: The global space economy is projected to scale to $2.0 Trillion by 2040. India, fueled by its historical scientific successes and supportive government policy (IN-SPACe), is poised to capture a significant share of this expansion, targeting a domestic projection of $44 Billion by 2033.

The Gap: Historically, public space missions have operated independently of mainstream commercial sectors. Spacenomics defines a clear, structural framework to bring mainstream corporate leaders and space science institutions together, bridging the gap between capability and capital.

Core Framework: The transformation rests on three core pillars:

  • 1. Knowledge: Establishing dialogue and sector intelligence to demystify satellite and space applications for traditional businesses.
  • 2. Enterprise: Scaling academic CubeSat programmes into commercial startups through corporate sponsorship and mentorship.
  • 3. Capital: Channels for corporate treasury and CSR to participate in space-tech incubation, sector funds, and joint development.
